Thought for the day.... SHEEP

I am a firm believer that our society is becoming more and more like a heard of sheep. However, within the past 30 days, I could probably name three specific occasions in particular, I witnessed sheepish behaviour first hand.

The first occassion was about three weeks ago. I was in court for a speeding ticket that was due to a speed trap (I won't bore you with the details). Prior to my court date, I prepared my case. Jokingly, I kept saying that I was going to "Perry Mason" that shit! Of course my case wasn't the first one called, so I got to watch people one by one walk up to the front and handle their cases. Of the four people who were called before me, not a single person argued their case. I mean even if I was guilty, I'd at least try...

The second occasion was during a snow storm, here in the Northeast. The primary roads had just been cleared and I was on a three lane highway. As I'm driving along, I approach a line of cars all in the right lane. They're all doing about 10 mph below the speed limit, as they're all following a large truck. Everyone just in the zone, playing follow the leader and no one utilizing the other two lanes that were empty other than me to pass...

Last but certainly not least, I take an exit an approach a toll booth with a long line for toll payment and no line for the ezpass lane. As I make my way to pass the long line and get in the ezpass lane, I think to myself "Really? None of those people have ezpass?". Once I passed the next to last car in line, I checked my rearview mirror and saw cars start get out of line and get in the ezpass lane behind me. It's like they just forgot they had ezpass or something. They saw a line and just went with it. WTF??? baaaah baaaah sheep
